TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF...
Such a simple concept, but not such a simple action. We hear it all the time, put your oxygen mask on first right? So then why is it so HARD?!
Taking care of yourself is so important to not only help you cope with stress, but to thrive! To ensure success, we have to make it simple... so here are some simple suggestions:
♥️ Take care of your body.
Take deep breaths, stretch,
or meditate. Try to eat
healthy, well-balanced meals, exercise regularly, get out in nature, get plenty of sleep, and avoid
alcohol and drugs.
♥️ Connect with others. Talk with people you trust about your concerns and how you are feeling and
let those close to you, especially children, share their concerns and accept support.
♥️ Hearing about the pandemic repeatedly can be upsetting or frustrating, so take breaks from
watching, reading, or listening to news stories, including social media.
♥️ Speaking of social media... fill it with things that bring light and love into your life. If you find
certain people or posts always get you down, it may be time to pull the plug on that person/content!
♥️ Focus your energies on what you can control rather than worrying about what you can’t. You can
come up with a new hobby, talk to a friend, exercise or explore nature, but you cannot control when
the world around us will go back to normal.
♥️ Maintain as normal a routine as possible, even if it is very different from your previous routines.
Make sure to include engaging activities that you ENJOY.
FINALLY, if you are struggling, know that we are here for you. Whether that is for a massage, body work, or a serious cry session (with a member of our Care Team or a Therapist)... because sometimes you just have to cry.
